Vice President Bobby Ottaviano received a resolution from New York State for his work with the Nassau County Fireman’s Association.

LEGISLATIVE  RESOLUTION  commending outgoing President Robert H. Ottaviano, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation  for  special  recognition for his dedicated service to the Nassau County Firemen’s Association

WHEREAS,  The firefighters of New York State are renowned throughout the Nation; their reputation is synonymous with excellence  in  the  arduous field of fire protection and prevention; and

WHEREAS,  Since  the  early  days  of “teapot steamers,” the volunteer firefighter has been the cornerstone of our great  Nation’s  efforts  to spare us from the ravages of fire; and

WHEREAS,  This Legislative Body is proud to commend outgoing President Robert H. Ottaviano, Jr.  upon  the  occasion  of  his  designation  for special recognition for his dedicated service to the Nassau County Firemen’s  Association,  to  be  celebrated  at  its 109th Annual meeting on Thursday, June 7, 2012; and

WHEREAS, President Robert H. Ottaviano, Jr. began his service  to  the Nassau  County  Firemen’s Association in May of 2006, as its Sergeant at Arms; he has subsequently served as 4th Vice President, 3rd Vice  President,  2nd  Vice President, 1st Vice President, and since May of 2011 as President; and

WHEREAS, In addition to the Firemen’s Association, Robert  H.  Ottaviano,  Jr.  is  Secretary of the Southern New York Firemen’s Association; Sergeant at Arms of the North Shore  Fire  Council;  Past-President  and Past-Secretary  of  Glenwood Hook & Ladder, Engine & Hose Company; Past President and Past-Secretary of North Shore Firemen’s Holy Name Society;
Past-President and Past-Secretary of Fifth Battalion Firemen’s  Softball League;  and  Past-Trustee  of  Volunteer  & Exempt Firemen’s Benevolent Association, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Those individuals, who have  given  so  selflessly  of  their skills  and  dedication,  are  worthy and due full recognition for their  valued contributions on behalf of their country and its ideals,  upholding  the  patriotic  character and principled ideals of organizations in service to their fellowman; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause  in  its  deliberations  to commend outgoing President Robert H. Ottaviano, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition for his dedicated service to the Nassau County Firemen’s Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Robert H. Ottaviano, Jr.
